One of Manchester’s  best known office buildings – Steam Packet House in Cross Street – is poised to remind the office market that since 1910 it has been one of the most ‘desirable’ office residences in the city and OBI Property has now been appointed joint letting agent with Edwards & Co.

Owners Ribot Investments have commissioned Redbridge Interiors Ltd to transform the 26,885 sq ft office ‘gem’ into a fashionable address in a capital spend in excess of half a million pounds.   The high specification works are now underway and will provide a new entrance foyer, new lift,  high quality common parts and refurbished office floors. The project is due for completion at the end of this year.

Peter Done of Ribot comments: “Steam Packet House is a commanding and well-known building within the city centre, and although market conditions remain challenging, we are very confident that our fresh approach to transforming the building will be well received by occupiers.”

For OBI Property, Will Lewis, Offices Partner, said that a total of 12,500 sq ft is available to lease and floors  ranging in size from 2,200 sq ft to 3,450 sq  ft  were being marketed to draw interest ready for new tenants to occupy office space from the New Year.
