Allied London has announced a trio of lettings at the XYZ Building in Spinningfields. Media group Global Radio has taken the top two floors, law firm Shoosmiths has taken 32,000 sq ft and global information assurance specialist NCC Group is to move its 60,000 sq ft headquarters to the new landmark building, with the group’s CEO Rob Cotton promising to “create some of the most exciting workspace ever seen in Manchester”.
Global, the media and entertainment group were the first tenants to sign up and will occupy 16,699 sq ft across the top two floors when the building opens next autumn, consolidating its two current offices in Salford Quays. The group owns multiple radio stations such as XFM, Capital, Heart and Classic FM and the UK’s only commercial news talk station LBC.
Law firm Shoosmiths were the swift to join Global agreeing to take two floors at totalling 32,000 sq ft of ‘customisable shell space to create a state-of-the-art workspace that will transform the way a legal company operates.’
NCC Group plc, advised by OBI Property, then completed a hat-trick of lettings taking 60,000 sq ft. The FTSE-listed company with over 31 locations across the globe are at the forefront of technology and the space XYZ offers is what attracted the business to the Spinningfields area.
Michael Ingall, Chief Executive of Allied London, said: “After the culmination of more than two years’ of planning and research, XYZ is now taking shape. The core of the building which connects XYZ’s ten floors can now be seen rising from the ground in the heart of Spinningfields.
He continued: “Forging its way as a building that provides an ecosystem for new ways of working, XYZ will be many things: experimental, innovative, pioneering, flexible, bold, and collaborative.”
The Allied London building is due for completion in Autumn 2016 and will boast independent coffee hubs, co-working space, event and conference space, a cinema room, terraces, a garden, a bike park and a personal fitness studio.
