OBI act on largest letting in the city for two years

Global computing firm, Arm, to occupy three floors of Gary Neville’s £400m development.

OBI represented Arm on the largest letting to-date at the £400m St Michael’s development – the largest in the city in two years – with Arm set to occupy 68,860 sq ft of space across floors three, four and five at No.1 St Michael’s.

The move from current premises at 11 Portland Street into the larger, high-quality premises at St Michael’s forms part of the advanced computing firm’s strategic plans for growth in the North. The company, which provides processor design and software platforms, boasts an international property portfolio of 27 offices across 16 countries.

Arm joins a raft of prominent global brands that are set to call St Michael’s home including financial intelligence firm, S&P Global, and international law firms, Pinsent Masons and Hill Dickinson.

No.1 St Michael’s is expected to be the first fully Net Zero Carbon commercial development in the city, both in operation and delivery. Comprising nine floors of best-in-class office space and a Japanese-Peruvian rooftop restaurant from Chotto Matte, it is set to achieve world-leading standards in sustainability and wellbeing.

Gary Neville, Director at Relentless Developments, said: “This is an incredible deal with a hugely innovative, global leader in technology – not only is it our largest letting but it’s largest in the city for two years. This perfectly sums up the momentum that’s rapidly building here at St Michael’s as construction continues at pace. We’re looking forward to welcoming the team from Arm and being part of their future plans for growth.”

Gary Campbell, EVP, Central Engineering at Arm, said: “Arm deeply values creating environments that empower our people to do their best work. St. Michael’s not only brings a modern location with a rich heritage, but like Arm, prioritizes sustainability and well-being. The Arm team looks forward to continued support of the Manchester community.”

Will Lewis from OBI acted on behalf of Arm. He said “We have worked with Arm for a number of years and we are delighted to have secured a best in class workspace for the Manchester team.”

CBRE acted on behalf of Relentless Developments alongside Kuits Solicitors.
