OBI Property has advised white goods retailer DRL Holdings on the expansion of their Bolton office which has seen the business commit to a new lease on 30,000 sq ft at Aspinall House, Middlebrook. Will Lewis of OBI negotiated the new lease terms.

Sales for DRL, which trades as – soared by 28% to £207.3m in its last financial year and the business expects its financial performance to improve “significantly” in the year to the end of March this year as a result of its investment.

The Bolton transaction is the latest for OBI Property, which is forming a very close working relationship with the DRL business. OBI have recently advised the white good retailer on numerous property aspects relating to dilapidations, new leases, interior design and fit out on office and distribution premises in Crewe, Manchester and Bolton.

Dominic Horridge, head of building consultancy at OBI commented; “collectively as a firm we are working extremely closely with DRL to ensure their growth is undertaken in the most efficient fashion. We are already undertaking the workplace consultancy for the new office design at Aspinall House and we are delighted to be working with such a forward thinking business”.

DRL sells appliances such as fridges, freezers, washing machines and dishwashers via its website, and directly supplies customers of high street chains. DRL will soon employ more than 800 staff.
