OBI delivers successful sale of Salford’s landmark Turnstile Building
04 August 2026Multi-disciplinary property consultancy OBI has completed the sale of the freehold Turnstile Building in Salford on behalf of developer Salboy, with Crescent Purchasing Consortium set to breathe new life into the landmark building after acquiring it as its new owner-occupied headquarters.
Occupying a prominent position within the rapidly evolving Castle Irwell regeneration area, the detached office and showroom building extends to 5,582 sq ft and was marketed with vacant possession.
The sale is another strong result for OBI in Greater Manchester’s commercial property market, reflecting continued demand for well located freehold buildings with character and long term potential.
Locally listed as a heritage asset, the Turnstile Building blends original architectural features, including its ornate frontage and exposed timber beams, with modern office accommodation. The property also benefits from 48 parking spaces and excellent transport links to Manchester city centre and the wider North West.
The building sits within the wider Castle Irwell regeneration area, where significant investment is continuing to reshape the neighbourhood. With hundreds of new homes being delivered there, the area is becoming an increasingly attractive location for businesses.

Crescent Purchasing Consortium (the CPC) are a nationwide charity which provides procurement support services to the education sector. The charitable work of CPC funds many projects and events focused on SEND, wellbeing and absenteeism. The Turnstile Building will become CPC’s head office and enable the charity to maintain their roots in Salford, where it has been since 1999.The successful sale further strengthens OBI’s track record of advising clients on strategically important commercial property transactions across Greater Manchester.
