Republic of Media expand at 26 Cross Street

15 June 2023

Media agency Republic of Media has expanded within their existing building, 1930s jewel, 26 Cross St, taking an additional 2,800 sq ft in the refurbished Grade A standard period building.

The business with offices in Manchester and Edinburgh now occupies 5,600 sq ft over the 4th and 5th floors and is currently undergoing a new state of the art fit out which has been designed and managed by real estate firm OBI.

The business has signed a new 10-year lease and is creating new collaborative and breakout spaces for the team and a new meeting suite for clients.

The building stands out amongst one of Manchesters most historic and lively streetscapes with its existing Portland stone facade retained and restored.

Leigh Herbert, director of client services, said:

“Our growth, combined with changes to how our team want to work – more collaboration and creative thinking time away from desks – presented a great opportunity to totally re-think how we use the office space. The result is two distinctive floors, each serving a specific purpose but combining to feel like one office overall. This was always going to be crucial to maintaining our culture and we’re delighted with how it has turned out.”

Will Lewis of OBI who acts in an asset management capacity for the landlord added:

“We have worked closely with Republic of Media for sometime to ensure we could accommodate the expansion in a way that works for their business. It is great to see how the business continues to expand and is creating a successful modern working environment”.

26 Cross Street’s location is a key selling point. It is surrounded by a number of UK and international professional service businesses located in and around the financial core. Manchester’s top hotels, such as Hotel Gotham and King Street Town House; and leading restaurants, such as Tast and San Carlo, are all within a five minute stroll.

Other occupiers in the building include HBD, Bank of Ireland, Eleven Associates and 3D Reid architects.
