Yasin Patel, Divisional Director, Amicus said: “Having decided to move into one the best buildings, right in the heart of Manchester city centre, we asked OBI Property to create a stunning work space for us. We wanted to create an environment which our staff thrive in and our clients are wowed by. Without doubt, OBI exceeded our expectations, from the practical approach to maximising light and space, to clever details providing unexpected views out over the City.”
OBI workplace consultancy team provided project management, interior design and cost consultancy to Amicus to create the stylish new home for the team of 40.
Eleanor Ashworth, OBI workplace consultancy said: “The sixth floor at 55 Princess Street has great views, especially over to the Town Hall, which were we able to make the most of by installing a feature corridor with the boardroom and meeting rooms revealing the full height windows.
“We designed a Corian desk and feature wall for the reception, and provided Italian light fittings and furniture to provide stylish and sophisticated finishes. Throughout the office we’ve provided subtle nods to Amicus corporate identity with our choice of soft furnishings and floor coverings.”
While desk spaces and meeting rooms make the most of the light and white furnishings, OBI Property also created brightly colour staff spaces, such as the orange tiled kitchen, green cushioned snug and red chaired outdoor terrace.
There remains only 8,944 sq ft on the 3rd floor and 3,461 sq ft on the ground floor of space available at 55 Princess Street. OBI Property represented building landlord Standard Life Investments on the deal, and were then appointed by Amicus to design and fit-out the office space.
George Shaw, Fund Manager for the, Standard Life Investments UK Real Estate Fund said: “It’s fantastic to welcome such an exciting and fast growing company like Amicus to 55 Princess Street. It’s testament to the quality of the space that we are able to attract such blue chip businesses to our building. Now the essential works for the Second City Metrolink Crossing are coming to end, and the vastly improved St Peter’s Square is revealing itself, we’re seeing a high level of interest in the remaining space.”
