New Manchester workspace for Love Hemp as brand expands

14 September 2021

Love Hemp, Britain’s fastest growing CBD brand, has opened a satellite headquarters in Manchester as it gears up for global expansion.

The premium CBD health and wellness brand launched in Croydon, London in 2015, where its head office and manufacturing operation is centred.

Its new Manchester base will become the marketing and creative hub for the company, which counts boxing legend Anthony Joshua as an investor.

Love Hemp has signed a two-year lease to take over 1,800 sq. ft of space within the Department Bonded Warehouse in the Enterprise City district of the city centre, Manchester’s new tech and innovation neighbourhood.

Thirty jobs for brand and marketing experts will be created with the new Manchester location, headed up by Ian Munzberger, Love Hemp’s Chief Partnerships Officer.

Founded by friends Tony Calamita and Tom Rowland, Love Hemp sells over 40 products including oils, edibles, sprays, cosmetics and topicals.

The company’s range of products are sold online across 70 websites and in over 2,000 stores including some of the biggest retailers in the UK, such as Holland & Barrett, Boots and Ocado.

British boxing legend Anthony Joshua recently signed a three-year Endorsement Agreement with Love Hemp and became an investor in the brand. Love Hemp is also the official global CBD partner of the UFC, the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation.

Tony Calamita, CEO of Love Hemp Group, said: “We are delighted to be opening a new workspace in Manchester.

“We chose the city because Manchester is one of the fastest growing cities in the country with some brilliant brand and marketing talent.

“The Department Bonded Warehouse gives us an inspiring space for our creative and marketing hub to collaborate and grow as we become a global leader for CBD wellness products.”

Ian Munzberger, Chief Partnerships Officer, said: “The expansion into Manchester will provide the perfect space for a fast-growing business like Love Hemp to thrive.

“We’re looking forward to bringing stars like Anthony Joshua and our UFC ambassadors for photo shoots and press days.”

Love Hemp has an aggressive global growth strategy and a strong focus on new product development.

Anthony Powell, Managing Director at Department, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Love Hemp to our growing wellness business community at Bonded Warehouse.

“It’s great to be joined by a business that understands wellbeing is core to a happy and healthy life, and a productive working environment. We can’t wait to see the business flourish following its recent equity raise and increased product listings.”

Debbie Meredith from Transactions and Asset Management at OBI Property, said: “It was a pleasure to work with Love Hemp to help them source their new Manchester office.”
