Turley swaps Piccadilly Gardens for Enterprise City

Leaving 1 New York Street behind, the multidisciplinary consultancy has set up a 5,700 sq ft office on the fifth floor of Transmission off Atherton Street in Manchester.

The space at the Allied London-developed Enterprise City will be the largest of Turley’s 15 offices – despite the firm shrinking its floorspace requirement by 3,000 sq ft.

Turley said 82 staff members would be based out of Transmission, which includes a mixture of workspaces and areas geared towards collaboration.

“Turley was formed in Manchester over 40 years ago and we are passionate about the city,” said chief executive Stephen Bell.

“Our Manchester office remains our largest office, we are very active on projects and initiatives across the city, and we are always exploring how we can contribute to an even greater extent,” he continued.

Regarding the new space itself, Bell said: “We have created a new and improved space for our teams to enjoy truly flexible hybrid working which has been at the heart of our approach for several years, and to provide a warm welcome to our clients and contacts.”

Bell went on to describe why Enterprise City marked the perfect location for the employee-owned company.

“As placemaking specialists our location is very important to us and our new home, within a rapidly evolving part of the city centre, aligns perfectly with our aims. Manchester has always been proud of its past whilst also looking ahead and Enterprise City is a great example of striking this successful balance,” he said.

Turley’s Transmission neighbours include antibody developer Proteintech and automation software company Robiquity. Aside from Transmission tenants, other occupiers in Enterprise City include Cloud Imperium, Peak AI, and Caravan. The district is also home to Aviva Studios, the home of the Manchester International Festival.

The lineup of companies calling Enterprise City home was part of what drove Turley to the area.
