Manchester relocation for Crowe UK – OBI provided consultancy services on the move

10 September 2024

Audit, tax, accounting, and consulting firm Crowe UK has moved its Manchester office. The company has operated in the city for nearly 30 years.

The Manchester team, previously based at The Lexicon on Mount Street, has seen steady growth in recent years, now employing over 100 people.

The new office, situated on Peter Street, is housed in a historic building offering more than 50,000 sq ft of floor space and a heritage dating back to the early 1900s. Constructed from terracotta bricks, it was the first concrete-framed building in Manchester.

This move will enable Crowe UK to expand its capacity.

With its Early Careers recruitment programme having doubled the intake of graduates and apprentices, the firm is set to welcome additional trainees, including those from its workplace secondment programme and the 10,000 Interns Foundation programme.

Michael Jayson, managing partner of the Manchester office, commented: “This move marks a really positive step forward in Crowe’s long-term investment in Manchester and the region.”

“This is a significant move for Crowe as it demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent work for our growing client list in Manchester and is the right environment from which to drive our business forward.”

Nigel Bostock, Crowe’s chief executive, stated: “Our strategic vision has seen the firm grow substantially over the last few years, spurring us to find an outstanding office space which supports our people and long-term business growth in Manchester and the wider region.

“The combination of a highly educated talent pool, excellent transport links, and a strong, innovative economy reflects our belief that Manchester is the expansive place for business and growth in the North.”

The firm, in collaboration with its real estate advisor OBI and landlord Grade A Alternative, has undertaken a major ‘fit-out’ programme.

Richard Lace, OBI’s director of transactions and asset management, commented: “OBI provided Crowe with multi-disciplinary consultancy services in relation to the acquisition, interior design, and delivery of their new office.

“Having negotiated the new lease at St George’s House, OBI went on to design and deliver the fit-out of the new office. Crowe’s brief was to create an engaging and collaborative environment that reflected Crowe’s brand and cultural values while drawing on influences from the physical form and features of St George’s House.”

Hannah Cooper, investment and asset manager at Grade A Alternative, remarked: “The fit-out looks fantastic, and it has been a pleasure working with clients who both appreciate the history and architecture of the building and understand the importance of providing a flexible and functional workspace for their employees and clients.”
